Depackaging of Food Waste

Large scale food processors, and supermarkets, have significant volumes of packaged product that is either surplus to requirements, out of date or returned unsold from smaller outlets. This material is usually compacted before being disposed of in landfill sites. Andigestion operates a Sepamatic depackaging machine which allows the food content to be separated from the packaging. This reduces the amount of material going to landfill by 80% - 95%, depending on the type of product we are processing. The separated food is a useful feedstock for the plant.
